Job Description :-
- Knowledge of working with Exchange Hybrid environments.
- Design, implement, and support Microsoft Exchange Server and Exchange On-line (O365) hybrid environments.
- Manage mailbox databases, email flow, and server configurations.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to Exchange Server and Exchange On-line.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless integration of the E-mail system with other systems.
- Implement security measures and best practices to safeguard Exchange (on-line and on-prem) environments.
- Upgrade and migrate Exchange Server versions when necessary.
- Supply technical support and guidance to users and other IT teams.
- Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- In-depth knowledge of Exchange Server versions, including installation, configuration, and maintenance in a hybrid environment.
- Strong understanding of email protocols (SMTP, POP, IMAP), Active Directory, DNS, and Network
- Experience with email security, such as anti-spam, antivirus, and encryption solutions.
- E-mail security protocols like TLS (Transport Layer Security), Digital certificates, S/MIME, DMARC, DKIM, SPF …
- Knowledge of Microsoft Booking (O365)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have skills
- Exchange certifications are a plus.

Key activities & role during transition
- Help security team on moving workloads from current Proofpoint Gateway into O365 native SMTP gateway, by reviewing current rules and collaborate on designing and implementing the new rules under the Exchange On-line and O365 On-line protection environment.
- Help to set up governance and operating model between Security and DWP team
- Review and update existing documentation related to Exchange Server configurations, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
- Attend training sessions or workshops to familiarize yourself with the Exchange Server environment.
- Create comprehensive documentation or knowledge base articles that outline common issues and their resolutions.
- Act as a point of contact for Initial, L2 and L3 support during the transition phase to address any critical issues or questions.
- Collaborate with the current team to develop a transition plan that ensures a seamless handover of responsibilities.
- Establish regular meetings to address concerns, challenges, and progress during the transition period.
- Ensure a smooth transition by supplying ongoing support.
- Design Exchange processes whenever they are missing.
- Shadowing the existing team on routine tasks, troubleshooting scenarios, and system maintenance activities.
- Design onboarding and offboarding processes where needed for users’ mailboxes and improve the existing ones.
Key tasks and responsibilities for regular operations
- Regular monitoring of server health, performance, and capacity to ensure smooth operations. This involves managing updates, patches, and service packs, as well as performing restores if needed.
- Creating and managing user mailboxes, distribution lists, and groups. This includes setting up permissions, managing access rights, and troubleshooting user-related issues.
- Implementing and keeping security measures to protect Exchange servers from threats like malware, phishing attacks, spam, and other vulnerabilities.
- Addressing technical issues, diagnosing problems, and supplying prompt resolutions to ensure minimal downtime. This includes investigating mail delivery problems, connectivity issues, and server errors.
- Tuning and optimizing Exchange Server performance by managing resources, fine-tuning configurations, and identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
- Participate in Major incidents driving into resolution.
- Help finding root cause of Major incidents or recurring incidents in a pro-active manner.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Generating reports on server performance, usage statistics, and compliance metrics.
- Providing support to end-users, helping with email client configurations, educate users on using Exchange features effectively.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Exchange System with other systems or applications, such as Active Directory, SharePoint, or third-party tools.
- Configure Legal Holds, archive/retention solutions when needed.
- Provide support for email on mobile devices.
- Any other activities that might be related to email.
