Job Description :-

Must have Skills

• Proven hands-on experience in configuring, managing, and optimizing Dell VNX, Unity and Isilon/Powerscale storage solutions on enterprise storage environments, including:
  • Setup/Changing/Adding/Reconfiguring
  • Snapshot and replication management
  • DFS management and integration
• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with storage protocols, including CIFS, NFS, SMB, iSCSI, and FC
• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience on SAN Switching related operations and configurations with Dell/Brocade and Cisco MDS, such as:
  • Zoning
  • Hosting access control
  • Performance tuning
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on troubleshooting storage-related issues efficiently.
• Experience in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks through effective tuning strategies.
• Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation for storage configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
• Knowledge about the industry best practices in storage administration to maximize reliability, performance, and data protection.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure.

Nice to have skills

• Relevant certifications would be a plus.
• Knowledge and some experience with Cloud Storage providers (Azure and AWS).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to think proactively and contribute with innovative suggestions for enhancing storage infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
• Ability to conduct effective capacity analysis and planning, ensuring optimal performance and scalability of the storage infrastructure.

Key activities & role during transition

• Evaluate the existing storage infrastructure to gain familiarity and pinpoint potential issues and challenges for proactive resolution.
• Actively engage with the transition counterparts, to gain familiarity with current operational methods.
• Collaborate closely with transition counterparts to understand the existing storage infrastructure, configurations, and processes and to gain familiarity with current operational methods.
• Review current storage documentation and update it accordingly to new findings.

Key tasks and responsibilities for regular operations

• Perform storage administration tasks, such as:
  • LUN configuration, provisioning, and maintenance.
  • Storage/LUN migrations.
• Conduct ongoing evaluations of the storage infrastructure to identify and address potential issues and optimize performance.
• Engage in proactive capacity analysis to ensure the storage environment meets current demands and is prepared for future growth.
• Perform regular maintenance, including updates, patches, and system checks, to ensure stability and security of storage systems.
• Implement monitoring practices to track storage performance, promptly identifying and resolving any deviations from optimal operation.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for storage configurations, operational procedures, troubleshooting guidelines and capacity/consumption reporting.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve storage-related challenges, contributing with innovative suggestions for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate on an operational and lifecycle roadmap.
